Sharon L. Boulanger has been promoted to Senior Lighting Designer by Atlantic Energy Concepts. Ms. Boulanger’s new responsibilities include coordinating the efforts of our survey teams, completing initial and final lighting designs, and working directly with the sales staff to ensure that the designs they receive include the entire scope of work, as well as the latest technological innovations and state-of-the-art design techniques. Sharon is now responsible for supervising our surveying team and all of their scheduling and work output.
Her special areas of expertise also include: AutoCAD, lighting calculations, interior and exterior lighting design and lighting retrofits/upgrades.
The position Senior Lighting Designer is newly created by Atlantic Energy Concepts in response to over tremendous growth in the past 4 years, and a doubling of staff in that same time period.
Sharon has been with Atlantic Energy Concepts since 2006, and previously held the position of Lighting Designer. Her responsibilities included expert lighting design for commercial clients and field lighting audits.
Sharon spent several years working as a freelance AutoCAD designer for engineers in the HVAC, electrical and refrigeration industries. She also has an extensive background in customer service-related positions, including owning her own business. Sharon has completed coursework including: Osram Sylvania’s Introduction to Lighting, Retail Lighting, and Office Lighting programs, as well as Lightolier’s Lessons in Lighting, and attendance of the seminar “Shedding Light on Lumens,” presented by Dr. Craig Bernecker, Ph.D., FIESNA, LC. Sharon has graduated from many certificate programs including AutoCAD design, basic and architectural drafting, and computer training. Currently, she is preparing for the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions (NCQLP) examination and certification, and continuing her education to become a Certified Lighting Efficiency Professional (CLEP).
