Atlantic Energy Concepts (AEC) recently qualified, and was accepted, to participate in the Pennsylvania Department of General Services (DGS) Small Energy Service Companies (SESCO) program. This qualification will allow AEC to compete against other pre-qualified SESCOs for small guaranteed energy savings contracts, which have been set aside by the Commonwealth for solicitation of, and award to, pre-qualified SESCOs only.
In order to qualify, AEC had to meet the criteria set by the DGS for a small business—a business in the United States, which is independently owned, is not dominant in its field of operation, employs no more than 100 persons, and has less than $20,000,000 in gross annual revenues. In addition, AEC provided numerous projects and customer references to DGS to demonstrate its proven history of developing, designing and implementing energy efficient projects that met the stated performance criteria.
Projects that will be awarded to pre-qualified SESCOs involve Commonwealth-owned or leased buildings with less than $350,000 in annual utility spending. The projects may include, but are not limited to, a preliminary feasibility study, and the design, acquisition, installation, modification, maintenance and training of the operation of existing and new equipment. The existing and new equipment will be required to reduce energy consumption and related costs associated with the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system, lighting systems, building envelope, hot water systems, water consumption, sewage costs or other energy-using devices. Services requested may also include the training of facility staff with respect to routine maintenance and operation. |
